CMB was honored to again sponsor and participate in Marketing Research Education Foundation’s (MREF) fourth annual Race Around the World. Giving back to the CMB community is integral to our culture, and this year’s Race Around the World was no different. To bolster fundraising efforts, CMB hosted a variety of events:

  • Race to Wellness: Team CMB consisted of 25 racers—a mix of CMBers, and our friends, families, partners, neighbors, etc. To spur some healthy competition amongst Team CMB, CMB awarded the CMBer who logged the most miles walking, running, and biking. Below are the CMB recipients for each category:
    • Walking: Betsy Herrick—who landed 124th overall, of 692 participants, with a total of 154 miles walking.
    • Running: Reyna Machado—who landed 249th overall, of 692 participants, with a total of 94.3 miles running.
    • Biking: Chris Neal—who landed 97th overall, of 692 participants, with a total of 165 miles biking.
  • Quad Goals: It was encouraging to see teammates’ miles go up-and-up, but to engage with those who don’t regularly bike to the office or train for marathons, CMB organized a few group walks around downtown Boston to increase mileage, enjoy the sights, and connect with one another.
  • Fueled by Food: Our Social Committee sponsored a potluck event with the Health & Wellness Committee. The potluck featured many of our team members’ favorite and (sometimes) health-conscious dishes, such as Irish soda bread, key lime pie, watermelon salad, and more. It’s safe to say we made a lot of CMBers happy and full.

Never underestimate the power of community! Together, we can make an impact. I am proud to announce that we raised a total of $688 and ended in 9th place with a total of 2,876.5 miles. With the addition of CMB’s Champion-level sponsorship of $2,500, that equates CMB’s total impact to $3,188!

Other members who contributed to this year’s success included: Michelle Reape and Sylvia Kinnicutt.
